Tool Introduction

Vertical shock absorbers are used to protect electronic instruments such as pressure gauges and operational tools from damage caused by strong vibrations and impacts on downhole tool strings. They mainly reduce the axial vibration of downhole tool strings and are generally installed between the vibration source and the electronic pressure gauge.

Structural characteristics

① The shock absorption unit adopts rubber or spring, both of which can absorb the impact generated by perforation through deformation;

operation

The lower joint of the mandrel string is connected to the vibration source such as the perforating gun, and the upper end of the outer cylinder string is connected to the pipe string. After being subjected to vibration impact, the mandrel string moves upward through the spline structure, first compressing the spring, and then compressing the high-energy shock absorber pad to achieve shock absorption.
