Tool Introduction
PPI packer is mainly used for cross isolation operations such as formation testing, acidification, and fracturing in casing wells. The use of the packer is the same as that of the RTTS packer, except that the PPI packer has a set of rubber cylinder sealing mechanisms at both ends, connected by an oil pipe in the middle. The length of this connecting oil pipe can be adjusted according to the thickness of the operating layer. When in use, the two sets of rubber cylinders are respectively seated at the upper and lower ends of the operating layer, and then relevant operations can be carried out.
Structural characteristics
① The tools all include a J-shaped groove transposition mechanism, mechanical slip mechanism, upper and lower sets of rubber cylinder sealing mechanisms, and hydraulic anchoring mechanism;
② The hydraulic anchoring mechanism can prevent the packer from being pushed upwards by excessive pressure at the lower part of the packer, and the packer is also equipped with a friction block straightening mechanism.
operation
The structure of the PPI packer is shown in the attached figure. When the packer is lowered into the well, the groove is placed in the locked position. When the tool reaches the testing position and is ready to operate, first lower the tool slightly below the setting position, then lift the tool to the setting position and rotate the string to the right for several turns. In the wellbore, the tool only needs to rotate 1/8 turn. Maintain the right torque on the string and lower the weight of the string until the mechanical slip of the packer begins to bear the weight of the string. The lower rubber cylinder is first compressed tightly against the inner wall of the casing, and then the weight of the pipe string is further lowered. The upper rubber cylinder is also compressed tightly against the inner wall of the casing, and the packer is completely seated, ensuring that the tool separates the test layer and the annulus. At this time, the circulation hole on the spindle and the circulation hole on the outer cylinder are just aligned. The tool comes with a hydraulic anchor mechanism to prevent the packer from being pushed upwards when the pressure at the lower part of the packer is too high. When the pressure at the lower part of the packer is too high, the pressure can directly act on the hydraulic anchor slip, compressing the spring to support the casing wall and prevent the tool from moving upwards. When it is necessary to work on the target layer, a plug can be used to block the diameter by throwing the ball inside the diameter or using a steel wire. If full bore is required after completing the homework, the ball can be reversed or the plug can be removed.
When unsealing, the circulation valve must be opened first to balance the pressure above and below the packer. After the hydraulic anchor slip is retracted, the pipe string can be lifted to unseal the packer, and the protrusion on the lower shaft will automatically slide into the groove locking position.
