Tool Introduction

The non rotating CHAMP packer is an ideal tool for deep water wells and high displacement downhole applications. In deep water wells, it is not possible to operate by rotating the tubing string, and it is very difficult to transmit torque to the downhole operating tools at large displacements. This packer does not require torque to be applied during the setting process. It only needs to apply pressure to the wellbore to release the locking mechanism, and then complete the setting and releasing by lifting and lowering the tubing string. This tool can achieve 8 (unlimited) cycles of setting and releasing in sequence, and then enter the locking mode of releasing the packer again.

The non rotating CHAMP packer is equipped with hydraulic anchor slip mechanism, rubber cylinder structure, mechanical slip mechanism, friction block mechanism, lug transposition mechanism, steel ball transposition mechanism, and lug locking mechanism. During the process of going down the well, the ear locking mechanism remains in a locked state, and the ear repositioning mechanism cannot perform repositioning and sealing. After going down to the sealing position, apply pressure to the wellbore to break the rupture disk. The pressure enters the outer cylinder of the rupture disk, pushing the outer cylinder of the rupture disk and the locking arm to move, and pushing the retaining ring to move to the limit groove. At this time, the transposition groove opens, and the protruding ear can move along the transposition groove of the lower transposition axis, and the locking mechanism is released. By lifting and lowering the packer multiple times, the packer can be set and unsealed until a fixed number of times have been set and unsealed. The steel ball is then switched to a locked state to prevent it from being set again. At this point, the tool string can be lifted up to retrieve the tool.
