Super safety valve is a main valve suitable for onshore and offshore drilling platforms. It is usually connected inside or below the blowout preventer to control the well flow. It can also cut through the steel wire rope and continuous oil pipe passing through the diameter through nitrogen pressure and balance line pressure.
The valve also has an interface for a chemical injection line (channel), which can be used for injecting chemical agents underground.
Structural characteristics
① The super safety valve has two hydraulic control lines and one chemical injection line. It is designed to close the ball valve with spring force and shorten the closing time with nitrogen pressure. By maintaining the pressure on the control line, the ball valve is kept in the open state;
② The float valve in the nitrogen chamber is used to prevent nitrogen from escaping, and the nitrogen pressure directly acts on the operating piston The ball valve mechanism held by this valve can cut continuous oil pipes with an outer diameter of 1.5 inches and a wall thickness of 0.125 inches.
operation
The super safety valve is operated and controlled through three hydraulic lines (channels):
① Control line: Applying pressure to the control line can keep the ball valve open;
② Balance line: Usually, no pressure is applied to the balance line. When it is necessary to cut off the continuous oil pipe, pressure needs to be applied to the balance line to provide additional shut in force;
③ Chemical injection line: used for injecting chemical agents underground or for other purposes. The chemical injection line is independent and does not affect the opening or closing of the ball valve.
