BW safety joint is a downhole string safety release device. When the packer and its lower string are stuck and cannot be released, the string is reversed and opened from the coarse thread of the safety joint, and the upper tool is lifted out; It can be connected to any part of the pipe column, capable of withstanding all normal operations of the pipe column, transmitting forward and reverse torque, and is easy to detach and reconnect.

When releasing the safety joint, first turn the left-hand column 1-3 times, while maintaining the left-hand torque, lower the column and apply a load to the safety joint; Then lift the pipe column to maintain a tensile load of 4450~8900KN on the safety joint, and then release the pipe column by turning left.

When connecting the safety joint, first lower the pipe column to make contact with the external threaded short section and the internal threaded short section; Then apply a small amount of compression load and slowly rotate the pipe column to the right. An increase in torque indicates that the safety joint has re engaged.
