Tool Introduction

MFE formation tester is a type of downhole switch valve, which is the core of the entire testing tool. It controls the downhole shut in by using the up and down movement of the tubing string. During testing, it is relatively easy to observe and judge the status of the downhole tool on the ground, and can achieve any opening flow and shut in pressure measurement.

The MFE formation tester consists of three parts: transposition mechanism, delay mechanism, and sampling mechanism.

Structural characteristics

① The opening and closing operation of the test valve is simple, safe and reliable;

② When the test valve is opened, there is a ground display indicating a free fall of 25.4mm on the pipe column;

③ The sampling mechanism is equipped with a safety pressure relief device. In case of fire or high temperature during transportation, if the sample pressure exceeds 80MPa, the safety pressure relief valve will release the high pressure into the inner cavity, avoiding the risk of explosion.

When the MFE formation tester goes down the well, the valve is in the closed state. After reaching the predetermined position, the tonnage is applied through the pipe string for a period of time. The pipe string falls freely by 25.4mm, and the test valve opens; When closing the test valve, lift the pipe string above the free point by a certain force, and then lower the pipe string to the original packer seat to seal the well; Repeating the above operation can achieve multiple opening and closing of the well; At the end of the final flow period, the dual control valves of MFE collect formation fluid samples, which maintain the state at the end of the final flow and are taken out of the wellbore with the tubing for sample analysis.
